Veterans Day’s origin began with the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. Briefly known as Armistice Day, November 11th became Veterans Day as “the war to end all wars” became just the first of many wars waged in the 20th Century….

U.S. changes “Armistice Day” to “Veterans Day” in 1954. Public laws, House & Senate Reports and legislative history information are all available on PQ Congressional — and part of NYLI membership.

While we honor all Veterans on this day, NYLI would like to share some resources for our Vietnam Veterans — once the young men and women of the 1960s — and now our Senior Citizens…
